ILLENIUM Finds New Depth in “Forever” With Alna and Tom Grennan: Listen

ILLENIUM has teamed up with Alna and Tom Grennan for a new single, “Forever,” threading his glowing production with a narrative steeped in emotional limbo.

The track opens like a memory pulled from sleep where Alna delivers the first blow, a question that never gets answered. Her voice moves with hesitation, wrapped in guitar strums and wispy synth pads that feel one step away from vanishing. “Tell me, did we almost have forever?” she asks.

Grennan enters like a reply from the other side of the story. Where Alna aches, he charges, almost like he’s already moved past the wreckage.

The second drop is where it all comes together. What started off as a soft exchange turns into something much more visceral as the tension finally tips into something louder, messier and cathartic.

“Forever” arrives in the wake of ILLENIUM’s recent two-track bundle, “Refuge” and “Ur Alive,” which saw the producer lean into the rhythms of house music. According to his label, Republic Records, he has “tirelessly been working in the studio crafting his most ambitious project to date,” although it’s unclear at this time whether or not an album is in the works.
